Coming Soon For June

Hello Dear Viewers!

It’s time for another look at what miniatures I’m going to be covering in the weeks to come.

Firstly though, I’d like to mention that progress on the last few videos has been a little slower than usual due to my now shooting everything in 4K, as I’ve had to spend extra time re-creating all of the intros, stage transitions and end credits for each series in the new resolution.

Here for example you can see a behind-scenes look at my capturing the end-credit shot for the Zombicide: Black Plague series:

I feel that the extra effort is definitely worth it though even though I don’t yet own a full 4K display; just watching in 1440p on my PC monitor or iPad already looks much sharper than the previous 1080p episodes.

However, this has meant that I have fallen behind with my previous schedule and – due to a couple of planned trips away (to the UK Games Expo in Birmingham, and another to the US for a secret mission) – my output will be a little light in June.

Firstly I’ll be releasing the 8th Episode of the Zombicide: Black Plague painting series, featuring Nelly the Barmaid, and I’ll be following this with Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars Imperial Assault.

The last figure I’ll be painting in June – as voted for by my patrons – will be the third of the monsters from Blood Rage – the awesome Troll!

Before signing off I’d like to thank you for following my work and for all of the supportive comments on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.  The kind feedback really does help to instil confidence and motivate!

Happy Painting!

Sorastro.

Your videos are what keeps me painting and striving to do better with each one. Before I found your videos I was using the power palette from reapermini.com. It helps in selecting colors but not the technique. Your videos do both and I have finally become a patreon of yours. You sir are a Rembrandt and by no means a intermediate painter. Each of your painted miniatures is a work of art. I just hope that I will become half as good as you are. I know that at origins game fair this month I will be taking painting classes they offer. So I look forward to seeing your future videos from you.

It seems like you’re a bit on repeat on each of these updates trying to explain why you aren’t making more videos! Is there an expectation of some sort of quota like 1 vid per week? If so, why not scale that back so you don’t feel the need to justify less each month? And if you end up doing 3 or 4 videos then thats just a bonus?

    • Sorastro says:

Ha ha, yes – the thing is I do really need to make an average of 3-4 videos per month in order to pay my bills! The odd month of just producing 2 is OK but I don’t earn enough to be able to do that regularly. Having said that I would never sacrifice quality for quantity. 🙂

Can’t wait for Nelly as I’ve been saving her for your video! Thank you for doing these videos as I’ve learned a lot and have found a hobby I love.

Are you in on the kickstarter for Zombicide: Green Horde? I know it wouldn’t ship for a year but I’d love to see what you can do with that kickstarter exclusive feral dragon!

    • Sorastro says:

Thanks a lot Steven! I’ll be releasing Nelly tomorrow so I hope you enjoy! I haven’t backed Green Horde yet because I have so many other projects on the horizon and I’m not sure if I’ll have time to cover it. We shall see…

Great job! I really appreciate your work, a lot of inspiration for my poor painting skills 🙂
I discover a lot of useful things in your videos, i’m impressed of your ability to use acrylics, in particular about the blending thecnique.
Will you cover in the future the upcoming new game from CMON, Rising Sun? A lot of breathtaking minis!!
    Thanks a lot

    • Sorastro says:

Thank you Michele! I’d love to cover some of the minis from Rising Sun if I can fit it into my schedule 🙂

    Great.
In the meantime let’s see the next video, i’m sure the awesome Troll from Blood Rage will be another piece of great art.
    Thank you so much.

It’s a few months out, but I’m hoping you do some of the Gloomhaven minis once it comes out in August.

I’ve noticed a real improvement in my results once I started following your videos. I finished up Onar and Vinto and they both look great.

Hi Matt! I do have Gloomhaven ordered so it’s possible I may paint my set (or at least the heroes I choose to use..) 🙂
