Doctor Octopus PDF Painting Guide

Hello!

In this post I’d like to share a PDF Painting Guide for the awesome Doctor Octopus from the Earth’s Mightiest Core Set for Marvel: Crisis Protocol!

For this Doc Oc I was loosely inspired by the version from the Marvel Spider-Man video game.

You’ll notice in the guide that alongside the Scalecolor paints that I typically use, I’m also starting to explore the ProAcryl line, as I was kindly sent a set of them a while back, and I like the colours a lot!  They are very matte however, so for places like the skin and the NMM of the tentacles, I decided to use the slightly more satin Scalecolor Artist paints.

I found the ProAcryl colours particularly nice to use for the coat (which I’m calling a lab coat) as they have such a pleasing range of grey tones out of the bottle that just work well for this kind of thing.

Here’s a little “Short” to accompany the PDF, that briefly shows the process for painting the tentacles:

I hope you enjoy the guide, and join me again soon as I continue working my way through the Earth’s Mightiest Core Set!

Happy Painting!

Sorastro.

PS I’d like to thank my kind patrons on Patreon for funding these guides.  I’d also like to share an affiliate link to the Rosemary & Co Series 33 brushes that I love to use (sizes  0,1 or 2 – “Short handle”), a link to Element Games where I buy most of my other hobby supplies, and a link to the awesome Redgrass Creative wet palette that I don’t paint without!
