For the last four years I have been working hard to produce the best-quality miniature painting tutorials I can for the YouTube channel “Sorastro’s Painting“.
Producing the tutorials combines so many of my creative passions – music, photography, videography, and of course miniature painting, that I simply cannot stop! And the creative rewards are only matched by the reward of knowing that I’ve helped one more person to enter the wonderful world of miniature painting.
I have spent 16 years of my working life in music education – both abroad (in Singapore) and here in the UK which has often been a meaningful and creative vocation, but I am now leading a new life as a full-time tutorial maker that is allowing me to fulfil my creative ambitions and reach a far wider audience.
This is being made possible mostly by the crowd-funding platform Patreon and the generosity of a few hundred fans who believe in my work and want to help me continue on the path of self employment so that I may spend all of my working hours producing the content that they want to see whilst managing to support my family.
Recent samples of my video work can be found here, and more information about the music I compose can be found here. Finally a range of “Sorastro’s Painting” merchandise is now available at Redbubble including the T-shirt and mug pictured above, which feature the wonderful design work of Brad Lacke.
