Coming Soon for February

Hello dear viewers!

It’s time to take a look at what I’ll be covering in the month ahead…

Firstly I’ll be catching up with some of the figures I failed (for various reasons!) to complete in January which means the HK droids from Imperial Assault, Jain Fairwood from Descent, as well as a short sponsored video for absolute beginners showcasing the new “Build & Paint” kits by  Games Workshop.

After that I will be tackling the stunning Rancor monster from the “Jabba’s Realm” expansion for Imperial Assault, as well as the next of the remaining heroes from Zombicide: Black Plague – Clovis!

I’d like to take a moment to thank you for the overwhelming response to the recent Fire Giant painting guide. Ambitious minis like that do take a fair bit longer to work on as you might imagine but I will absolutely be returning to cover the remaining figures from Blood Rage over the coming months.

Thank you again for the positive feedback; it does mean a lot to me!

Happy Painting!

Nice! I just got a second return to hoth so I will paint those HK’S using your video. I was hoping you would do the rancor because I have no idea how to paint that guy. Looking forward to both of those videos when they are released.

    Keep up the good work!

Dude, your zenithal highlight method is sweet and your fire tutorial in your last video taught me so much.

What kind of airbrush system you rocking?

        Hi Sorastro,

Your videos, and impending KDM models, have almost convinced me to try airbrushing. I’ve been struggling to decide between the Neo and the HP-C plus, and one thing that’s concerning me is the cleaning of the airbrush. Have you found any good resources on this topic, and what do you think of the advice from the ElementGames link above that says to not use the spanner that comes with the airbrush?

Love your videos, and keep up the great work! Really looking forward to any KDM stuff you do.

      • Sorastro says:

Hi Monty! I find cleaning the HP-C Plus pretty straight forward, once you get used to taking it apart and putting it back together again. I haven’t really watched any videos about it (which I probably should!). Regarding the spanner warning – I’m not even sure what it does but I don’t touch it for fear of breaking the airbrush! 🙂

When my 3 year Old son goes to bed I’m put on one of you videos and start to paint. Great meditation to disconnect from all. Thanks for the work you made so far and the stuff in the future:)

First of all, thank you for creating the supremely well done videos. When I haven’t painted for a while, watching one your videos gets me motivated to start tackling projects again. My range of techniques continues to expand solely due to your influence.
I just saw that you started using an airbrush in your painting videos. I’ve owned one for a while and really haven’t done much with it…I just don’t know where to start. Have you done an airbrushing basics video and if not, would you consider creating one?

    • Sorastro says:

Hi Jeremy! Thanks a lot for the kind words! You’re not the first person to have asked about airbrushing; I’ll see if I can make time to produce a very basic guide a bit later on this year 🙂

You’re like the new Bob Ross. 🙂
I go home, put on some 80’s music, put on your video, and paint away. Your voice is very relaxing and zen. 😉

  7. Justin says:

    Hey, love your videos!

My brother and I started chipping away at painting the horde. Its turning out half decent for new painters, Im pleased. Going to be great to play with them again. Keep the videos coming! Hope to see you do all of the Zombicide stuff, your work is great. Curious if you will be doing the Massive Darkness Kickstarter when it comes out? I was kind of banking on that you would, haha.

Anyways, thanks for your quality work! 🙂

    • Sorastro says:

Thanks a lot Justin! I’m honestly not sure if I’ll be covering Massive Darkness or not as I have so much on the go at the moment, but I’d like to if possible 🙂

Hey. I’ve watched a few of your Star Wars series videos and am impressed with your brush and camera work, very professional! I couldn’t find the info anywhere on Facebook, YouTube or on your website but… do you consider commissions?

      • PheonoM says:

That’s a shame, your work is fantastic. I’ve checked out Griff’s Minis and he is also super talented. Down side is that I’m based in the UK and I’d imagine shipping to be a little pricey. I don’t suppose you know of any UK based people that you could recommend?
