Coming Soon for January and Beyond

Hello Dear Painters!

Another month (and year!) is at an end which means it’s time to take a look at what’s coming up in January and beyond…

Coming out first will be the Deadeye Walkers expansion to Zombicide: Black Plague.  If you’re finding the base game a little easy(!?) the Deadeye Walkers with their ranged attacks are a wonderful way to mix things up a bit!

Next will be Greedo from Imperial Assault, followed later in the month with the HK-series assassin droids.  (I’m still awaiting the arrival of my copy of the Jabba’s Realm expansion but can’t wait to cover it!)

Also this month (or possibly early February) I’ll be tackling the awesome Fire Giant from CMON’s Blood Rage, and Jain Fairwood from Descent.

Finally, I’m going to be taking at look at the new “Build and Paint” sets by Games Workshop which present a great way for new painters to try the hobby out without any huge up-front investment.

Looking a bit further ahead, alongside my usual output you might be seeing one or two X-Wing and/or Armada repaints from me, along with some Blood Bowl, not to mention several other CMON and FFG releases I’d like to cover over the course of the year.

Finally, later in the year I’m going to begin work on Kingdom Death Monster  (which has seven days left on Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/poots/kingdom-death-monster-15 so it’s not to late to get on board!).

It just remains for me to wish you all a happy and creative 2017!

Yours,

Sorastro.

Great to hear you are covering KDM as well as X-Wing/Armada
I am also waiting for Jabba, but will you finish the Hoth/Bespin expansions first?

Hi DKDent77! It’s actually my patrons who vote on the order I paint the minis so I don’t really know; My guess is that one or two minis from the Jabba’s Realm expansion my jump the queue before I complete the earlier expansions 🙂

Sorastro, I’ve been a fan of your work for awhile now. I’ve just invested a lot of money in supplies and am so excited to start painting some reaper bone minis I picked up.

I’m writing to throw your way a suggestion for a video I’d love to see you do. It could be separate videos for each or a compilation but these are things I personally think would be interesting to see: your work space setup and a tour with explanation for why things are laid out that way, a tour of your supplies including reasons for why you’ve chosen certain tools over others (trial and error stories etc.), and finally a tips and tricks video with a general overview of things new painters should know or info that will help them out…share your wisdom sensei 😉

Anyway, my thinking is if I’m interested in these things perhaps others are as well. Cheers mate and keep up the fantastic work!

Hi Murray! Thanks a lot for the suggestions; I am planning a series of non-tutorial videos in which I’d be happy to cover the things you’ve mentioned 🙂

Love your vids, looking into trying my hand at painting due to KDM. Came here to see if I could request you try KDM as well and I am greated by the newest update! You will be my first Patreon pledge once those start up. Maybe take a look at Mythic Battles: Pantheon as well, they have some impressive looking minis! Thanks for making mini painting look doable!

Thanks Chris! I sure am looking forward to starting KDM too! I also kickstarted Mythic Battles: Pantheon, although my schedule is looking pretty full on this year so I don’t know how much of it I’ll be able to cover. (I consider having too many awesome games to paint a good problem to have though!) 🙂
